About Me

50+ YEARS AS A PILOT

33+ YEARS IN COMMERCIAL AVIATION

2018 RECIPIENT OF THE WRIGHT BROTHERS MASTER PILOT AWARD

FAA SAFETY TEAM REPRESENTATIVE

Welcome! I am Will Rondeau and I am so glad you stopped by. I retired from flying ten years ago, my last flight I flew from Tokyo to Detroit, Michigan. It was a bittersweet time for me. I was happy because there wouldn’t be anymore checkrides and sit at altitude for hours. However, it was sad because it was the end of flying these beautiful aircrafts, the crews I had the opportunity to work with, and lastly the passengers who entrusted themselves to me. It was the best career anybody could ever have!

After retiring, I returned to the classroom at Middle Tennessee State University to earn my MS in Aerospace Safety Management and Security. I wrote my thesis on trying to help make General Aviation (GA) safer. GA was my background and I felt I could guide pilots to make GA safer, for passengers and pilots. I write newsletters for the EAA and offer lectures to chapters on Safety (currently over zoom until covid has departed).

I live just outside of Nashville, TN, and in my spare time I hike, kayak, and swim as much as I can. My family and I try to spend as much time with our dog Rosie as we can. Rosie joins us on our adventures and is a great hiker, swimmer, and sleeper! As soon as covid is over we will resume our global travels which we have missed dearly.

Thank you so much for looking into my website and please feel free to send me any comments you might have, Safe Flying.
